How weddings have changed on the decades! Coming from a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight bridal party members; a simple wedding car to expensive and huge wedding cars; three course meals in order to six course meals; one to three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Speaking of the latter, wedding speeches are still an important part of a marriage and guests do look ahead to hearing them, discussing them before, during and even after they’ve been delivered.
We are all aware of wedding speeches delivered prior to the meal, in the meal after your food, however it is of a strong opinion that the father of the bride speech must be delivered as soon as the meal. I know that for many marriage ceremony speakers i.e. Father from the Bride Speech, Father with the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (the five main speakers), they might want to hold the wedding speeches before the meal, for them to enjoy their meal (a number of them are spending money for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and exactly how many (as wll as the marriage venue staff) would rather the wedding speeches to get delivered as soon as the meal for several reasons, most of which include:
The invited guests are already fed and watered and aren’t playing wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which would be so prior to meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food can be cooked and served on the agreed time (introduce the wedding ceremony speeches ahead of the meal along with their could be a delay of Quarter-hour one.5 hours, driving your home staff crazy always keeping food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding ceremony speeches behave as the transition from the meal for the dancing (with nothing happening following your meal, individuals are expecting ‘a few words’ to be shared concerning the Bride & Groom after which it they are fully aware they can get up, maneuver around, have a break, go for a walk, navigate to the bar…)
It can be difficult for fogeys from the Bride & Groom to communicate in in public, as the majority of them would not be used of it. So, they can, should they so wished, speak prior to / their meal.
There should still be some type of formal speech(es) after the meal…
