Keeping up with the expression “it is exactly what it is”? What does that expression mean exactly?
Before I understood the deeper meaning of this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru inside the lotus position floating higher than the ground imperiously imparting wisdom that might take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Since this can be my last life in the world and also the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting this course In Miracles would help me clarify its meaning.
What is the IT that we’re covering here? In accordance with the Course in Miracles, It’s truth, specifically God’s truth. How come it’s crucial that you emphasize it’s God’s truth? Because God’s simple truth is not available to interpretations whereas a human’s simple truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have cause a numerous religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion being a “system of thought, feeling, and action that is certainly shared by way of a group which increases the members a physical object of devotion.”
Who devised it of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? In accordance with the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is usually to resume a perfect state of being. There isn’t any thought or action within the state of being, you only are. What should not be forgotten will be the underlying thread of religions: God is creator, God is love and we are all perfect and infinite children of God.
Put one way, “it is exactly what it is” could be rewritten to “God’s love may be the only truth which is absolute” which truth knows no bounds and is timeless.
