What’s the expression “it ‘s what it is”? What does that expression mean exactly?
Before I understood the deeper concept of this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru within the lotus position floating over the ground imperiously imparting wisdom that might take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Seeing as how this is my last life on this planet along with the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting the program In Miracles would help me clarify its meaning.
Exactly what is the IT that we’re currently talking about here? Based on the Course in Miracles, IT is truth, specifically God’s truth. How come it’s crucial that you emphasize that it is God’s truth? Because God’s simple truth is not ready to accept interpretations whereas a human’s truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have create a many religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion like a “system of thought, feeling, and action that is certainly shared by the group knowning that increases the members an item of devotion.”
Who devised the machine of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? According to the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is to come back to a perfect state of being. There isn’t any thought or action in the condition of being, you simply are. What mustn’t be forgotten could be the underlying thread of religions: God is creator, God is love and we’re all perfect and infinite children of God.
Put one way, “it is what it is” could be rewritten to “God’s love may be the only truth and it’s also absolute” this also truth knows no bounds and is timeless.
