How weddings have changed in the decades! From a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding party members; a straightforward wedding car to expensive and large wedding cars; three course meals to course meals; 1 to 3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Speaking of the latter, wedding speeches continue to be a fundamental part of a wedding and guests do enjoy hearing them, speaking about them before, during and indeed after they’ve been delivered.
We have all heard of wedding speeches delivered ahead of the meal, throughout the meal and after the meal, however it’s of the strong opinion that the wedding speeches needs to be delivered as soon as the meal. I am aware that for many wedding ceremony speakers i.e. Father of the Bride Speech, Father in the father of the groom speech (the five main speakers), they will choose to possess the wedding speeches prior to meal, to allow them to enjoy their meal (a number of them are spending money for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and how most of them (as wll as the wedding ceremony venue staff) would prefer the marriage speeches being delivered following the meal for a lot of reasons, a few of which include:
The invited guests happen to be fed and watered and are not hearing wedding speeches before eating any breakfast (at least of food, which could be so ahead of the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food can be cooked and served with the agreed time (introduce the marriage speeches before the meal in addition to their could be a delay of Fifteen minutes one.5 hours, driving your home staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
Wedding ceremony speeches work as the transition from the meal to the dancing (with nothing happening as soon as the meal, everyone is expecting ‘a few words’ being shared concerning the Bride & Groom after which it they are fully aware they’re able to get out of bed, maneuver around, come out, go for a walk, visit the bar…)
It can be hard for folks with the Bride & Groom to speak in public, as most of them would not be used than it. So, they could, whenever they so wished, speak before the / their meal.
There should be some kind of formal speech(es) following the meal…
