Roger Federer wins big at ATP World Tour Awards

Roger Federer, the truly amazing swiss tennis player, managed to win to win three awards at ATP World Tour Awards presented by Moet & Chandon.
Federer has recently won 36 awards sinces 2003, probably the most by any player. He’s won “ATPWorldTour.com Fans’ Favorite” for 15th straight year. He’s got also was able to win “Sportsmanship Award” as voted by his fellow players. He has won sportsmanship award 13 times and this was 7th consecutive award.


He grabbed “Comeback Player with the Year” award following a splendid 2017. Federer skipped the final half of 2016 after being struck by knee injury. Eventually, he dropped away from top ten and was 17th seeded player at start of 2017. However, he was able to win 7 titles in 2017 including 2 grand slams, 3 ATP masters and 2 ATP World Tour 500s. Although he missed the whole clay season, but he was able to win Wimbledon, Shanghai Masters and Basel Open and then. He’s had a remarkable year in terms of achievements as well.
Nadal would be a close call for “Comeback Player from the Year” as well, however, his comeback, although phenomenal, had not been as significant as Federer’s. He was 9th seeded at oncoming of 2017, but ended the year as number 1 seeded player. Roger Federer also had advantage in head to head against Nadal while he managed to win 4-0 in 4 encounters against Nadal this coming year.

Meanwhile, Rafael Nafal won the “ATP World Tours No. 1” award because he too had a great year winning 2 grand slams including french open for the tenth time and us open. However, his head to head record against Federer wasn’t good at all.
