Saturday’s “To Do” list gets underway with Head to GARAGE SALES!
Planning my route the evening before, testing my gps on my phone and circling the yard sale listings from the paper can be a Friday night ritual.
Town I reside in is a “Planned Community”. Which make it pre-planned and strategically presented. It can be split up into Sections each section is represented by instructions. The “P” section contains streets starting with the letter P: Perkins, Parking, Parkins, Penny. You get the idea! In the P section, there are lots of retirees and young professionals. The W section is definitely the rich and ritzy division of town Then the B section is older yet sadly, more rundown. The R section is loaded with young partners with children. The S Section is south of town and thought of in the boondocks even though the lots are larger and yes it feels more country. Last but not least, the C Section is when the canals, intracoastal, boats, boats plus more boaters live. Each section possesses its own characteristics and community. Although many of us are part of the larger town, these “sections” develop over town to get some ambience. The region with a lot of children have 2 elementary schools and sidewalks throughout. The “Country” section of town has no street lights which is over beaten track from your remainder of town. But, the city all together has regulations and laws that people all try and abide.
We have been allowed Two rummage sales each year. Were required to buy a $5 permit for each and every of these sales and our signage is picked up and destroyed by noon on Saturday mornings. It’s not at all a conducive atmosphere for any Garage Sale Business out of your home!

But when they get caught disobeying the principles, they feign innocence for the rules and promise to prevent repeat! But, a few weeks later when stuff has calmed backpedal, there will suddenly be another garage sale! A lot of people in the neighborhood could care less and life proceeds!
On the Wednesday ahead of the Friday/Saturday Yard sale rush, a long list of all sales arrives in our local shopping guide, The Pennysaver. People list their address, date and time of sale along with a handful of “hook” goods that will attract the throngs of super sale seekers. I faithfully pour on the Pennysaver dividing the sale addresses into town’s sections and plot my Saturday journey!
I leave for that sales until around 11am since the majority of of the sales end by 1 or 2pm. Therefore, by the time I recieve on the sale, the folks you will need to sell off all of the their stuff for virtually any price you offer them. Since i have am NEVER trying to find anything in particular… just real deals, I have been in a position to purchase (without negotiation) entire rooms of furniture, enormous collections of old china and enough fabric to stitch clothes for any under-developed nation! And I purchased for around $5!!! I’ve a weekly budget of around $20 for currently have and just a couple of times have I ever learned about that amount!!!
So, just for this weekend, We are plotting out about 10 sales in just a 10 mile variety of my house. I will leave at 11 am and become back by 3pm and i also know….The rear seat in the car will be LOADED!!!!
