Using the launch of the new 2 wheel self balancing electric scooter, 2015 has been an exilerating year for gadget fans. Across the world, everyone is taking to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to create pics and vids of themselves zipping around with this 2 wheel contraption which basically looks like a board with a wheel on either side.
A mixture of a skateboard as well as a segway, this mini Segway (with no handle) type thing is growing in popularity, fuelled to some extent from the volume of celebrities that were seen on a single. From Attacking young boys to Soulja Boy, Kendall Jenner to Jamie Foxx, have the ability to tried their hand at this nifty little gadget, and appear to get were built with a great deal of fun doing so.
Nicknamed the ‘swegway’ (as a consequence of it’s likeness towards the Segway, however a ‘cooler’ version) we aren’t sure entirely where this specific self balancing wheel originated from or who invented the first. Almost certainly it originated from some factory in China. The initial glimpses we got than it on tv were an item called the IO Hawk, a scooter that sells for an impressive $1800. It was back in January of 2015. Since then many cheaper versions of the identical product attended in the marketplace and also the average price at the moment is apparently around $500.
How can it work? Basically you ascend to the two panels and shift your body weight slightly forward or slightly back plus it senses this bodyweight change and moves backwards or forwards. This may also turn right of left. This self balancing wheel is becoming quite popular it’s actually being touted as the personal mobility device into the future. Who would like to walk when you are able glide, right? Plus it’s actually a lot faster than walking, travelling at speeds of 6mph to 10mph.
