Most people have seen the commercials: a happy family gathers together in a sunny kitchen to relish a fresh-baked chicken dinner. The scene is idyllic. But as many secretly- filmed documentaries demonstrate, the horrors gone through by the birds who end up on our dinner tables are almost unimaginable.
